Rick and Morty Season 7’s possibility is being disputed among fans of the show after Justin Roiland, the voice of the main characters Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith, got charged with one felony domestic abuse in January.
On January 25, Adult Swim confirmed that they’ve ended their association with Roiland.
Later, through the official Rick and Morty Twitter account, a statement was shared about the same. In the statement, it was also assured that “Rick and Morty will continue.”

Since then, Roiland has also been replaced in the show Solar Opposites which was co-created by him. British actor Dan Stevens will be taking his role as the voice of Korvo in the sitcom.
Although the charges surrounding Roiland were dismissed later, it appears that Adult Swim is still looking for a replacement for Rick and Morty.
The executive producer Steve Levy said he does not “think anyone will bat an eyelid hearing the new voices.” Cartoon Network’s president Michel Ouweleen supported the statement and compared it to the different voices of Bugs Bunny. He said, “It’s a rather unique situation. I love what Jeff Bennett has done with [Bugs]. But it’s not Mel Blanc! And yet we recognize the character.”
What does this mean for Rick and Morty Season 7?
There is definitely going to be a season 7. As the team confirmed through their Twitter account as they note “The talented and dedicated crew are hard at work on Season 7.”
The team is looking for a new cast for the voices of the protagonists of the show.
When is Rick and Morty Season 7 releasing?
A release date hasn’t been released, but one can expect a fall release
Ouweleen in his interview with Premiere said, “We haven’t announced it, but it will be this year. We try to keep roughly the same dates every year.”
The last season was released in early September. You can expect it around that time this year.
