Paddy Considine is a British actor, director, screenwriter, and musician. He is recognized for portraying antiheroes in independent cinema. Early Life & Education
Patrick George Considine was born on September 5, 1973, in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, where he continues to live. He was raised alongside his brother and four sisters in a council estate located in Winshill, a village within Burton.
His father, Martin Joseph Considine, hailed from Ireland. Considine’s education included attendance at various institutions, such as Abbot Beyne Senior School and Burton College.
In 1990, he began pursuing a National Diploma in Performing Arts at Burton College, where he first encountered Shane Meadows.
In 1994, Considine relocated to pursue photography at the University of Brighton. At one stage, Considine faced the possibility of expulsion, yet he ultimately graduated with a first-class BA.
Paddy Considine’s Career
After completing his education at university, Meadows cast Paddy Considine in several short films, as well as in his second film, A Room for Romeo Brass (1999).
In his initial screen role, Considine played the troubled character Morell. He also featured as the lovesick misfit Alfie, winning the Best Actor award at the Thessaloniki Film Festival.
In 2007, Considine secured roles in two well-known big-budget films: the third installment of the Bourne Trilogy, The Bourne Ultimatum, where he portrayed newspaper reporter Simon Ross, and Hot Fuzz, marking his initial comedic role as DS Andy Wainwright. In 2008, Considine featured in My Zinc Bed, a television film produced for BBC/HBO.
Paddy Considine appeared in The World’s End, portraying one of the “Five Musketeers” who are attempting an “epic” pub crawl. Previously, Considine collaborated with the cast and crew on Hot Fuzz (2007).
In 2015, he was cast alongside Glenn Close and Gemma Arterton in the UK zombie film The Girl with All the Gifts, which is based on the 2014 novel of the same name by M. R. Carey.
In 2020, he played the role of Mr. Martin in the HBO miniseries The Third Day, sharing the screen with Jude Law. In August 2022, Considine started his role as King Viserys Targaryen in the prequel series to Game of Thrones, titled House of the Dragon.
