One Piece Episode 0: Release Date
Now, here’s the big news. One Piece Episode 0 was initially an OVA, which means it wasn’t part of the regular anime episode lineup but now it has been announced that it will be available on the franchise’s official YouTube channel on October 13, 2023, for a limited time. So, do not forget to watch it!
What is One Piece Episode 0 About?

Episode 0 will take you on a wild ride back to the beginning. The story kicks off with a middle-aged Monkey D. Garp, ready to face off with his arch-nemesis, D. Roger. Meanwhile, Roger’s crew clashes with the Golden Lion, Shiki’s massive armada. Shiki, being the cunning pirate he is, offers Roger an alliance, but Roger has none of it. Their crews throw down, and a storm messes up Shiki’s fleet. Roger’s crew delivers a crushing defeat, which is now known as the Battle of Edd War.
As the story goes, years later, after Roger and his crew reach Laugh Tale and discover the One Piece treasure, things take a dramatic turn. Roger turns himself in to the Marines, and they announce his execution in Rogue Town, in the East Blue.
Meanwhile, a furious Shiki attacks Marineford, but he’s no match for the combo of Garp and Sengoku. A week later, Roger meets his end. Before he goes, Roger drops a bombshell: the One Piece treasure is out there.

This OVA will also show snippets of various characters from different parts of the world, each doing their thing during Roger’s execution. It is a massive dose of nostalgia for long-time fans.
And guess what? We also get to see the escape of the “Golden Lion” Shiki from Impel Down as the OVA wraps up with Shiki and his second-in-command, Dr. Indigo, making a plan that’ll take twenty years to prepare.
