Noah Knigga: Popular Indiana Linebacker Going Viral For His Football Skills

Noah Knigga, a talented junior from the class of 2025, is making a name for himself as an outside linebacker at Lawrenceburg High School in the heart of Indiana. Standing at 6 feet 2 inches and weighing 208 pounds, Knigga is a rising star to watch.

Knigga was recently selected for the Indiana Preps 2023 All-State Top 22 – Underclass team. Despite facing an injury that kept him out of play for part of his sophomore year, Knigga’s presence on the team was unquestionable.

In only six games, he demonstrated his defensive leadership in Lawrenceburg with an impressive 51 tackles, 11 of which were for a loss. His exceptional abilities have caught the attention of college recruiters from schools like West Virginia, Bowling Green, Ball State, Miami (Ohio), James Madison, and Indiana State.

Athletic Abilities

During his second year at Lawrenceburg High School, Noah Knigga played a crucial part in the Tigers’ successful 11-2 season in 2022, ultimately leading the team to the state championship game.

With 87 tackles, seven sacks, 17 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, and one interception, Knigga established himself as an outstanding player in the Class 3A All-EIAC. In addition to his defensive abilities, he displayed his versatility as a tight end by making 10 catches for 130 yards, making him a valuable asset to Indiana high school football in various aspects of the game.

Although Noah Knigga did not win the state championship, their desire for achievement has grown even stronger. With Lawrenceburg preparing for the upcoming season, Knigga views it as an opportunity to make a comeback and finally claim the coveted title.

He said,

“We definitely want to get back to the state championship and win. I’m just trying to work as hard as I can to be an example for the young guys.”

Knigga is motivated to enhance his abilities by looking up to his idol, TJ Watt of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

“I’ve been working to be even better in coverage, I’ve matched up with some great players and have been competing well.”

Noah Knigga is not deterred by the demands that come with being a coach’s son and instead embraces them. The opportunity to win a championship alongside his father, Ryan Knigga, gives a deeper meaning to Noah’s path.

“There is pressure being the coach’s son. Every day, I want to live up to that pressure.”

Noah Knigga brings his signature energy, effort, and toughness to every game, not only striving for personal achievements but also honoring and adding to the legacy his father established at Lawrenceburg High School.

Viral Sensation

The athlete from Lawrenceburg High School gained a lot of attention on social media due to his uncommon surname. While others, such as Rowdy Beers, have become internet sensations thanks to their distinctive names, people were curious about the correct pronunciation of this high school football player’s last name as he aspired to play in college.

He spoke with Knigga and his family to gather information on the correct pronunciation of his surname.

They informed him that it is pronounced as “Ka-nay-guh.”

Griffin added,

“For some people it might ruin the name, I don’t think it ruins the name at all. I think you should get a couple T-shirts that say ‘Knigga Please.’ I think it would be hilarious.”

According to Noah Knigga’s father, he doesn’t believe anyone has ever been upset over their family name, but he has been asked about it before.

It seems that the class of 2025 prospect is headed toward a future in college football. As reported by 247 Sports, Knigga has been exploring options at West Virginia, Miami (OH), and James Madison in pursuit of a scholarship for his next level of play.
