Nicole Briscoe, who grew up in Roscoe, Illinois, completed her education at Hononegah High School in 1998. In 1996, she and fellow cheerleader Danica Patrick, who would later become a race car driver, were classmates at the school.

Nicole was crowned Miss Illinois Teen USA in 1998, earning her the opportunity to compete in the Miss Teen USA pageant in Shreveport, Louisiana, in August of that year.

She demonstrated outstanding performance, making it to the semi-finals and achieving third place in the evening gown category, seventh place in the swimsuit category, and tenth place in the interview round, resulting in an impressive overall eighth-place finish.

In 2001, following a two-year interval, she participated in the Miss Illinois USA pageant and was awarded the first runner-up position, with Rebecca Ambrosi being crowned the winner.

Nicole enrolled at Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, Illinois after completing high school. She selected a program in Television Presenting and landed her first job while still a student at the university.

Career

In 1999, Nicole Briscoe began working in the media field as a reporter with a broad range of responsibilities. She was hired by WREX-TV, a Rockford, Illinois-based NBC affiliate. On weekends, she also held positions as a producer and anchor for news and weather.

She joined WANE-TV, a CBS affiliate located in Fort Wayne, Indiana, as a substitute anchor and news reporter in 2001. She remained at this station until April 2004, when she moved to Indianapolis. In her new role, she served as a sports presenter for the CBS affiliate, WISH-TV, where she was introduced to the world of auto-racing.

During her time at WISH-TV, she reported on major sporting events such as the Indianapolis 500, Indianapolis Colts, and Indiana Pacers. She also gained experience as an on-air sports anchor by covering college basketball games.

Eventually, she landed a role as a pit reporter for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Radio Network, providing coverage for the Brickyard 400 and Indianapolis 500 races.

She became a member of SPEED in July 2016, staying for approximately two years as the co-host of a motorsports show. In 2008, she transitioned to ESPN and has remained there since.

During the years of 2008 to 2014, Nicole Briscoe held the roles of reporter and host for the show, NASCAR Now. However, when the 2014 season concluded, ESPN ceased broadcasting live NASCAR races.

Between 2011 and 2014, she was the host of the pre-race NASCAR Countdown show. In 2018, Nicole served as a reporter for the ABC telecast of the Indianapolis 500.

Additionally, she filled in as a reporter and host for certain ESPN Radio programs. In 2015, she was elevated to the role of studio show host and anchor for ESPN’s SportsCenter Show. She remains in that same position today.
