Kliff Kingsbury was born on August 9, 1979, in San Antonio, Texas. He played football at New Braunfels High School, where his father held the position of head coach.
Kingsbury was also involved in baseball, basketball, and track. As a quarterback, he achieved 3,009 passing yards and 34 touchdowns, steering his team to a 13–2 record and the Class 5A Division II semifinals.
He earned the title of offensive MVP at the Texas High School Coaches All-Star Game. Kingsbury finished third in his class of 450 students and received Academic All-State honors. In 2018, he was honored with induction into the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame.

Kliff Kingsbury is a coach and ex-professional player in American football. He excelled in college football before launching his pro career with the New England Patriots in 2003, but unfortunately, he didn’t get to play due to an arm injury.
He joined the New Orleans Saints and remained on their practice squad throughout the 2004 season. In 2005, he was picked up by the Denver Broncos for their practice squad but was let go shortly after, leading him to the New York Jets where he made his NFL debut. His NFL career concluded with the Buffalo Bills in 2006.
In 2006, Kliff Kingsbury signed with the Cologne Centurions and also played in NFL Europe. The following year, he took his talents to the Canadian Football League, where he suited up for the Montréal Alouettes and Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
His coaching journey began in 2008 when he became an offensive quality control coach at the University of Houston. By 2012, he had advanced to the role of offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Texas A&M.
