After being interviewed for six hours by the Colrado Bureau of Investigation and FBI, Chris Watts finally confessed that he has murdered his wife. But this happened only after he failed the polygraph test and even laughed when he was asked about all the possible reasons and ways for disappearance of a person. This was reported by the Watts family murder case investigative documents.

Chris Watts continuously claimed that he had no information about the whereabouts of his wife and daughter’s location. On 15 August, the investigators asked Watts to mention all the ways he knew that could result in someone’s disappearance.

Watts just laughed at the question and said that it was not easy to answer such a question. However, when he was asked about all the possible physical ways that could cause a person’s disappearance by way of murder, Chris came up with a long list of options.

When asked about investigators if strangulation could be a way, Chris refused to comment. He was later found guilty of the same. Before the polygraph test was conducted, Chris was told about the questions which he would be asked. The questions that were asked inquired about if he had any role to play in the disappearance of his wife, if he was speaking the truth about when he saw her last and if he was aware about her present location.

Chris Watts managed to maintain his innocence during both the actual polygraph test and the pre-test interview. But as per the authorities, Chris was found not speaking the truth when the results of the polygraph test were out.

Even after that he refused to tell anything and simply accepted the fact. But when Chris talked to his father later on and confessed about his crimes, the entire conversation was recorded. Chris later on apologized for all the lies he has told earlier.

Chris has been sentenced to life in prison without parole on 19 November.
