Just when fans thought Mappa would show some empathy to its animators, fans received the latest announcement of the Chainsaw Man movie. The Mappa controversy has been at its peak for the past few months, and there have been several takes on the issue by renowned directors and animators. Recently, Bleach TYBW’s director, Tomohisa Taguchi, and crayon Shinchan director, Keiichi Hara’s comments on the plight of animators have sparked outrage among the anime fandom. The insensitiveness reflected in their words explicitly shows that the toxic glorification of hard work in the animation industry will not change easily.

Since the announcement, fans have shown concern about the animators and are curious whether the same JJK animators from Season 2 are onboard for the Chainsaw Man movie. The Fans are hoping that since Mappa is the sole producer of the movie, things may become different with the schedule and workload from this point onwards.
There was pressure from the production committee during the premiere of JJK Season 2, so it wasn’t up to Mappa to decide the schedule. There were other factors as well that did not support rescheduling JJK Season 2 all over again.

Chainsaw Man Movie: Release Date And All About It
While fans hoped Chainsaw Man would come with a new Season, Mappa decided to animate the Bomb Devil Arc, or the Reze Arc, into a movie, covering chapters 40-52, continuing from where Chainsaw Man Season 1 ended. Although no release date has been confirmed yet at the Jump Festa 2024, it is expected that the movie will be released not before the end of 2024.
