After exiting One Life to Live in 1986, Thayer entered the realm of primetime TV. She took on leading roles in two short-lived CBS dramas: TV 101 (1988-1989) and Island Son (1989-1990). In 1992, she landed a part in the ABC legal show Matlock as the titular character’s daughter, Leanne MacIntyre.
