Eilish invited a group of young activists to join her new cover story for Vogue. Climate activist Tori Tsui asked the singer “how she deals with the weight of millions of people’s expectations.” Billie Eilish replied, “It’s wild. In my head, nobody knows who I am. Nobody knows what I look like. I was 13 when I put stuff out for the first time. I look back at who I was, when fewer eyes were on me.” She continued, “I grieve that. I strive to be that kid again.”

She once said, “I have to remind myself what my life actually is to the outside world, because I just forget sometimes. My life really, honestly feels the same as it did when I was a child.”
