Alita: Battle Angel 2 release date depends on Disney and they have not given out any updates about the sequel. The live-action movie based on the Japanese manga series “Gunnm” received new heights of popularity after Alita released on digital and home media. Fans have since started various campaigns asking Disney to confirm the Alita sequel. Based on the recent fan demands for Alita: Battle Angel 2 at the Oscars, the movie could get a new release date and plot very soon from Disney.

Alita: Battle Angel 2 fans have been amazing in their support of the sequel and have done so many things till now. The Change.org petition asking James Cameron and Robert Rodriguez to work on Alita sequel has crossed over 142,580 signatures and could soon reach the 150,000. The movie has such a dedicated fanbase that they started a GoFundMe campaign and gathered the required money to fly a banner for Alita sequel over the Oscars 2020 Red Carpet on February 9.

Most of the cast and crew members are very happy with the response and have expressed their desire to start working on Alita: Battle Angel sequel. Disney is also taking notes and waiting for the correct moment to announce the second Alita movie.

Alita: Battle Angel sequel will follow the story of Alita played by Rosa Salazar on a revenge quest against the evil scientist Nova played by Edward Norton. It was seen in the first Alita movie that the cyborg warrior has won the motorball championship and secured her ticket to the City of Zalem where the story of the sequel will take place.
Alita 2 release date can’t happen for at least 2-3 years in the future due to long production, filming and CGI-special effects time. Also, the Disney-Fox merger is very complex and the rights for Alita Battle Angel sequel are kind of delayed for a few more years.
