But when a popular boy and middle school drama begin to jeopardize their connection and the ceremony, comedy ensues. The movie boasts an ensemble cast including Adam Sandler, his daughters- Sunny and Sadie Sandler, his wife- Jackie Sandler, along with Idina Menzel.
You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah will be available to stream on Netflix from August 25, 2023.
Leo
Leo, a 74-year-old reptile portrayed by Adam Sandler, has been confined to a Florida school for many years. Upon learning that he has only a year of life remaining, he and his turtle buddy make a plan to break out and gain their freedom. Other actors featured in the movie are Bill Burr, Cecily Strong, Jason Alexander, and Rob Schneider.
The musical comedy is slated to be released on November 21, 2023, on Netflix.
Spaceman
The highly-anticipated Netflix Original movie from Adam Sandler, Spaceman of Bohemia, was expected to release in the fall of 2023, but that has since changed. The movie, directed by Johan Renck, is based on a popular book and was filmed from April to July of 2021, with an estimated budget of $30-50M. It tells the story of an orphan from a remote corner of the Czech Republic who goes on to become an astronaut.
The official release date is TBD but is expected to hit the screens in 2024.
Safdie Brothers Projects
The Safdie Brothers and Adam Sandler, who had a hit with Uncut Gems, are set to collaborate on a film about trading baseball cards in New York City during the 1990s. Scheduled to start shooting in the summer of 2023, the project has been put on pause due to the strikes that are still happening. As of now, there is not much more information available about the untitled project.
Untitled Noah Baumbach Movie
According to NY Post, Netflix has given a nod of approval to filmmaker Noah Baumbach for a project which involved Adam Sandler and Brad Pitt. The news was announced in December 2022, but there haven’t been any new developments. It could also be due to the ongoing WGA strike in Hollywood.
Aside from these expected upcoming movies, there are several other projects that are rumoured to be added to the Sandleverse. There has been talk that certain of Adam Sandler’s beloved movies, such as Happy Gilmore, Billy Madison, and The Waterboy, will be getting sequels. Additionally, Drew Barrymore and Sandler have hinted that they might reunite to make another movie due to the commencement of a new decade. Unfortunately, plans for a sequel to The Wrong Missy, featuring David Spade, have been abandoned.
