A less known technology firm from China, Royale has hit the bigger South Korean firm, Samsung by launching a foldable phone. It seems to be the 1st foldable phone of its kind and it works. Samsung has planned to launch Galaxy X, the foldable phone very soon, but before that Royale Corporation has released the Flexpai phone in the press meet.

Journalists, Mashable and Verge got their hands on the phone and they revealed that the technology works. The size of phone is half of 7.8” plastic screen in a single twist of 180 degree. Mashable’s Karissa Bell says that the phone isn’t actually perfect but it fulfills the promise of the 1st foldable smart phone. The phone is difficult to handle and crunching sound is heard while trying to fold the phone. Royale replied to her, that this arises because of sticky materials.

Nick Statt of Verge says that the device is bulky & less in quality as well as the device does not fold flat. This phone is a kind of first generation phone and the android 9.0 version works very slow and has bugs. This foldable phone will be started selling in China soon as consumer device but it will be available as developer model in the US.

Mashable reports that the developer edition costs for the 128 GB storage is $1318 and for the 256 GB it is $1469. Royale Corporation has planned to launch the Flexpai on the same time when Samsung has set to launch the much expected Galaxy X.
