The Borderline Bar mass shooting in Thousand Oaks, California has affected Ashton Kutcher personally and he opened up about it.

The horrific shooting took the lives of around 12 people and Kutcher was deeply impacted by the incident. He tweeted,

My wife threw me a birthday party this year at the Borderline,” Kutcher wore in a tweet. “Only reason we are alive is the shooter chose a different night. My heart goes out to the victims.

Ashton Kutcher feels that stricter gun laws must be put in place and it’s high time that people should be protected.

I’ll say it again… Gun Reform now! Politicians need to stop standing behind the dollar and Protect the people!

Kutcher even went on to push Ivanka Trump to talk to the President about it. He said that Ivanka’s brother-in-law, referring to Joshua Kushner, was also present at the party and he could have been a target as well. Gun reforms are the need of this hour.

Kutcher grew up hunting and also worked in a gun club. So he is not asking to take the guns away from people, instead stricter laws should be put in place. He even added that arming people will also not help and made no sense when it comes to protecting people.

The BS rhetoric around arming more people to protect others is just that, BS! Armed people got killed last night! Gun Reform now!!!

Kutcher supports the idea of gun reform and in addition to that, there should be mental health awareness and support as well. Both of them must be initiated. Kutcher got a gun as a gift on this birthday from his friend at the borderline, but now he has second thoughts about ever using it. This shooting incident has changed the way he thinks and feels sorry for all those who were affected by the tragedy.
